Eat Seafood High in Omega 3

by Carly Neubert, BA, NC , Updated April 14, 2025

What is 1 thing you can STOP 🛑 doing in support of 1 thing you will START ✔️ doing to change your life by 5%?

What habits are worth your time and energy and which habits are not worth it? I've got 1 habit you can start and 1 habit you should stop, today!

✔️ Eat seafood that is high in omega 3 fatty acids

Seafood is the best source of Omega 3 fatty acids that are used in every single cell in your body. The American Heart Society recommends anywhere from 1000mg to 4000mg (4 grams) of Omega 3 fatty acids per day. The FDA recommends at least 2 servings of seafood per week for adults. A serving size of 4 ounces is the size of a deck of cards.

Fatty fish like salmon, mackerel, tuna, herring and sardines contain the highest amounts of Omega 3 fatty acids. High quality Omega 3 supplements can be an addition to your Omega 3 fatty acid intake.

🛑 Stop eating farmed fish!

I think we can all agree: seafood should come from the sea. But when you purchase or eat farm-raised seafood you are not getting the same amount of nutrients that are in wild caught fish and shellfish. Moving the needle by small increments yields large results over time.

✔️ Start supporting your life with foundational healthy habits and 🛑 stop sabotaging yourself.
