Take Your Supplements With Food

by Carly Neubert, BA, NC , Updated April 14, 2025

What is 1 thing you can STOP 🛑 doing in support of 1 thing you will START ✔️ doing to change your life by 5%?

What habits are worth your time and energy and which habits are not worth it? I've got 1 habit you can start and 1 habit you should stop, today!

✔️ Start taking your supplements with food

While some supplements (amino acids) must be taken on an empty stomach, most will benefit from a little food. Digestive juices are released when you chew. But if you swallow something, like a supplement, without chewing, you will not have enough gastric juices to begin the digestive process. This causes the supplement to sit in your stomach and cause nausea.

Take your supplements at the beginning of your meal so there is plenty of time and digestive secretions to absorb the nutrients.

🛑 Stop Taking your Supplements on an Empty Stomach

Nausea and reflux are common complaints against taking supplements. Taking your supplement with a meal usually solves the issue and guarantees better absorption.

Moving the needle by small increments yields large results over time.✔️ Start supporting your life with foundational healthy habits and 🛑 stop sabotaging yourself.
