Supreme Nutrition: High quality herbs for your health
I have long respected and worked with Supreme Nutrition herbs and its founder Dr. Michael Lebowitz. His son, Dr. Noah, joined this family owned and operated company years ago and they have both continued their shared mission to provide herbal solutions to some of the most complex and complicated infections and illnesses. I have written various other blog articles about their unique formulas, and production of potent herbals.
From antivirals to binders, Supreme Nutrition has herbs and supplements for many uses and purposes. Supreme Nutrition sets itself apart by being pure ingredient-focused. They prefer only having one ingredient in a supplement so they can focus on the quality of the raw ingredient. They test their raw materials to ensure that there are no fillers or binders added to the herbal ingredient.
Tinctures are a new addition to Supreme Nutrition’s offerings. Tinctures are highly concentrated liquid extracts formed when the herbs themselves are soaked in alcohol or vinegar. The alcohol/vinegar pulls the active ingredients out of the herbs and creates a concentrated liquid.
Tinctures date back to Ancient Egyptian times. They soaked herbs in alcohol to make both tinctures and cordials. Popularity of tinctures continued through the 12th century through the early 1900s. Popularity declined because encapsulation methods were invented and most people found pills easier and more convenient.
Tinctures are easy and convenient to take. While capsules need to be broken down by stomach acid, tinctures can be more easily absorbed in your body. While there are many DIY tincture recipes on the internet, it is safer to go with a formula that has been rigorously tested and perfected, like the ones offered by Supreme Nutrition.
So… how do you take a tincture? A tincture is meant to be taken via the mouth. Fill the dropper in the bottle and place the suggested amount of drops in the mouth. The drops should be placed directly under the tongue. After the liquid has been in your mouth for a few seconds, swallow. You can follow up with a drink of water if the taste is too bitter.
Elderberry Tincture
Supreme Nutrition’s Elderberry Tincture has its primary benefits within antiviral and immune boosting categories. Elderberry has been used for generations as an herbal remedy. Ancient Greeks used elderberries as a vital part of their medicine cabinet.
Elderberry has been studied for use in Influenza A and B, HIV, and upper respiratory infections. One study showed that elderberry can decrease the length of a cold. I don’t know about you, but I would do or take just about anything to shorten the length of any illness.
Supreme Nutrition’s Elderberry Tincture has a dosage of 10-30 drops 3 times daily, and weight is a contributing factor since children can take it too. It is naturally sweet which makes it a great remedy for children and adults.
