    More Info.

Riboflavin is important for healthy growth and development and normal red blood cell production. It also assists in the process of releasing energy from carbohydrates. Riboflavin is a water-soluble B vitamin that must be replenished by dietary sources daily in order to maintain adequate levels to support normal function and health. Coenzyme forms of riboflavin are required for conversion of tryptophan to niacin and of B6 to its coenzyme form (P-5-P). Riboflavin may help support healthy mitochondrial function. It also may help to maintain healthy homocysteine levels. Riboflavin can be found in foods such as milk, meat, eggs, nuts, enriched flour, and green vegetables. Although deficiency is not common in the United States, it may be necessary for certain individuals to use supplements to obtain adequate daily intake of this important nutrient.
